The late kingpin of the Medellin Cartel, Pablo Escobar gained notoriety in the 1980s as the world’s most successful narc0 trafficker, responsible for building a billion-dollar global c0ca1ne market.

At the height of his power, Forbes ranked him as the world’s 7th richest man in 1989. Thousands died on his orders: torture, drive-by shootings and car bombs were his favorite methods of terror throughout Colombia. Despite the gruesome tactics he employed in eliminating his adversaries, Escobar remains a hero to many Colombians, considered by many as a modern-day Robin Hood who donated millions of dollars to the poorest population living high above in the hillside shanty towns in Medellín.
